About the role
An intermediate-level Data Engineer role on a global enterprise cloud data platform, designing and delivering data engineering solutions across Snowflake, Azure and AWS. This is a full-time, on-site role in Bangkok, Thailand. We welcome applicants of any nationality and support relocation.
Responsibilities
- Work with Snowflake or Azure, depending on demand
- Design and implement data engineering solutions — batch and streaming data pipelines on the cloud
- Design and implement extraction, processing and storage of data from different sources
- Design conceptual, logical and physical data models for analytics solutions
- Collaborate with project teams, business customers and other partners on requirements gathering, solution design and delivery
- Ensure adherence to best practices, technical architecture, design standards and technology roadmaps
- Translate customer needs into logical and physical models, data diagrams and automated workflows
- Explore and learn new technologies aligned with technology roadmaps and industry trends
- Take part in proofs of concept, technical demos and interactions with customers and technical teams
- Apply analytical thinking to complex data issues and support data-driven decision-making
Primary skill set
- Solid knowledge of SQL (queries and stored procedures)
- Strong proficiency in dbt, Databricks and GitHub
- Experience working with Azure, Snowflake and AWS cloud services
- Experience with ETL/ELT cloud pipelines (Azure Data Factory, Functions, Event Hub, Azure DevOps)
- Familiarity with data modelling (star schema, snowflake schema)
- Cloudera platform experience
- Good understanding of Python
Nice to have
- Experience with data and analytics projects and on-premise data pipelines (e.g. NiFi, SSIS)
- Experience with SQL optimisation on SQL Server (indexes, query plans, load strategies)
- Experience integrating and managing data flows from SAP, SQL Server and Hadoop
- CI/CD fundamentals (DevOps, Git)
- Exposure to visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau, Sigma)
- Exposure to big data event streaming solutions (Kafka)
- Basic understanding of SAP HANA
- Experience with data replication tools (Qlik Replicate, SLT)
- Experience with Scrum or Agile frameworks
- Knowledge of HR processes and HR data workflows is a plus
